The Associated Press reports that a local committee has recommended that the city of Galveston improve beach access in the coastal community, along with other measures designed to protect the coastal environment.

The Beach Access and Dune Protection Plan Review Committee's recommendations include measures for improved dune protection and additional parking at beaches.
