The city of Victoria is using parking revenue to fund free transit for everyone under 18 years old.

"A plan to provide free public transit to all Victoria resident under the age of 18 is becoming a reality," reports Kylie Stanton.
The city of Victoria will cover the cost of a $45 youth monthly transit pass for the Victoria Regional Transit System, starting in September. The city will use money generated by parking to cover the cost of the free youth passes.
"The idea is to create lifelong transit riders by starting them young. It’s also being called a promising step in combating climate change," according to Stanton.
