A blog post and video by TransitCenter outlines the advantages of increasing bus stop spacing as a means of improving speed and overall service. In New York City, the MTA is altering bus stop spacing on express routes in Staten Island.

Although some people will have to walk father to their bus stop, improving bus stop spacing speeds up service, prioritizes stations near important destinations, and saves resources, allowing for improvements to amenities at remaining bus stops.
