"For past nine years the National Building Museum has operated a 13-week program for middle and junior high students who learn about the principles of city planning and then apply them to problems they identify in their own neighborhoods." This article describes the program and its results. " CityVision is one of the premier programs in a growing national movement to teach children about design. Across the country, as schools have downsized budgets for art and social studies, cultural institutions and professional groups such as the American Architectural Foundation have rushed to fill the gap. All of them portray design not as aesthetics or style but as a set of skills for solving problems."
