On the 30th anniversary of the annual "America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places," the National Trust for Historic Preservation took a look back at the successes of years past.

Andrew Small shares news of the latest release of the National Trust for Historic Preservation's list of endangered buildings. This year the list commemorates 30 years of the list's efforts to raise awareness about endangered historic places by highlighting some of its greatest successes.
Small samples the preservation wins that "survived urban renewal," or as he describes them, "a murderer’s row of city sites, and the battles that saved them."
So there's Governors Island, in New York City; the Cathedral of St. Vibiana, in Los Angeles; and the Statler Hilton Hotel, in Dallas, among others.
