A rogue "halftime" outhouse in an upscale subdivision causes grief and complaints.
"Town officials said the outhouse was illegal - they were banned under Title 5 septic regulations in 1986 - and was a hazard to public health and groundwater. They said it could not be used by Gikas or his guests, no matter how urgent the need at halftime... Gikas offered to construct a pipe-and-bucket system for liquid waste, and to cart the container up to his house when it was filled. But health officials said that would not work either, in part because there was no running water at the outhouse, for whoever handled the bucket to wash his hands. The only way Gikas can make the privy operational, Pare said, is to build a septic system for it, which would be a lot of expensive construction for 10 afternoons of watching football (excluding postseason play, which the Patriots didn't make this year.)"
