"Many of the worlds greatest structures temples, tombs, cathedrals and shrines have aligned themselves in some way with the universe....many contemporary architects seem dismissive of the very notion of explicitly relating their art to the universe around them...An astronomical memorial at the World Trade Center need not be so elaborate. It could be a simple monolith that would cast a shadow on the morning of every Sept. 11, the tip of the shadow pointing to a memorial."
