'I've got pit bulls, crack dealers and drunks across the street, and 40 kids who live here,' said dressmaker Dianne Hutchings, who moved to the West Oakland loft from Nob Hill. 'But I am not moving. It's up to us to make this area better. We have our work cut out for us.'"
