Three Steps to Fix Infrastructure

According to a post by Robert Puentes, "we still have a long way to go to correct a half-century of bad habits and underinvestment and make the delivery, design, and financing of infrastructure the norm rather than the exception."

To change those bad habits, Puentes recommends a three step program, summarized as follows with more detail included in the article:

  1. Talk about infrastructure in concrete, rather than abstract, terms. 
  2. Find ways to fund individual sectors of infrastructure.
  3. Prioritize infrastructure investments that achieve real economic, social, and environmental goals.
