There are six differing plans for the WTC site. Are they really that different?
Benjamin Forgey of the Washington Post discusses the WTC site, their ambiguity, and what needs to be done to begin the real process of redesign of the site. "The plans are there, and we can look at them and see for ourselves that, architecturally, they are humdrum, unexciting, uninspiring, et cetera. They have other faults, too, along with some good points, but the architectural mediocrity is the thing that hits you right away. It is rather like taking the downtown skyline of some average American burg and plopping it in one of the most prominent and symbolically important sites of our times."
