Next City has published a list of ten "great picture books" that explore urban life for the curious and imaginative children in your life.
"Playing make-believe is about using the space you are in — a living room, a yard, a forest — to collaboratively create a world with distinctive rules, characters and stories. Call it placemaking in its purest form."
So writes Anna Clark to introduce a list of "10 Great Picture Books" that will spark the imagination and interest of children about life in the big city.
Clark writes a short summary of each of the ten—overall it's a diverse collection that addresses much larger ideas than might be expected from children's books.
