Along with the annual barrage of "best of lists for 2014" comes an entry from the "worst of" lists—CityLab's "awkward to awful" apps aimed at urbanites.
According to Tanvi Misra, "[the] year 2014 saw plenty of amazing technological advances….But in other corners of the technology universe, like, smartphone app releases aimed at urban dwellers, a number of things went awry. The apps we've gathered below lie somewhere on the spectrum from awkward to awful."
Among the apps that made the list were public MonkeyParking (a public park space auction app) and…wait for it…Uber (the transportation network company is named for alienating "a lot of customers this year following a series of missteps"
