In a video blog recorded at the recent MAS Summit in NYC, Roger Duffy, design partner at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, discussed the firm's forthcoming airport and airport city in Mumbai, which he described as "revolutionary" in how it's being developed, but "not iconic" like most 20th century airports in cities.

"[Our building] doesn't seek to create an outside iconic image," he said. "We created a series of interiors that are quite magical and all based on light, and your intuition, so you can understand how to move through the terminal building."

He noted that it's a public-private development, which he called "the way of the world now."
