The California League of Conservation Voters publishes its overview of environmental legislation for the past year.
This annual report put out by the California League of Conservation Voters provides an overview of environmental legislation for the past year. This easy-to-reference resource rates both bills and politicians' voting records as pro- or anti-environmental, and tracks the year's political progress for nine different environmental issues. This year, the report pays special attention to the energy crisis. Assemblymen Wilma Chan, Judy Chu, Jackie Goldberg, Paul Koretz, Carol Liu, Joe Nation and Fran Pavley all received perfect scores for their environmental commitment. Politicians rated the worst included: Assemblyman Rod Wright, for single-handedly preventing California from becoming the biggest producer of renewable energy in the nation, and Sen. Rico Oller for authoring the bill to place a dam on the American River at Auburn.
