So. CA Reverses National Housing Trend

Nationwide, home ownership rose to 66% last year. But in Los Angeles, only 38.6% own their homes. Only NYC has more renters.

Some call it a crisis requiring an immediate solution. Home ownership creates community stability. Renters are less secure economically and personally. In LA the low ownership rate includes a lack of policy on housing, as well as the massive population growth. Other So. CA counties have rates of home ownership that reflect the national level.
