Sixteen individuals and companies were recognized for protecting the environment while promoting economic development.
Among the sixteen winners, two identified in the field of sustainable development include: "Briar Patch Community Market, Nevada County. The community market is a medium-sized natural foods co-op with a waste reduction program; and Warner Bros. Studio Facilities, Los Angeles County. Warner Bros. has improved environmental quality by increasing energy efficiency and improving designs for renovation and new construction."
