Earlier this week, Charlie Rose hosted a roundtable discussion with the mayors of Chicago, Baltimore, Jacksonville, and Louisville on how they're working to revitalize their cities in challenging economic times.
Coinciding with an event hosted by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Charlie Rose speaks with four Mayors from across the country whom he says are, "working to find innovative ways to cut costs while growing jobs and revitalizing their cities and their culture."
Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of Chicago; Greg Fischer, Mayor of Louisville; Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Mayor of Baltimore; and Alvin Brown, Mayor of Jacksonville speak with Rose about issues such as the pressing issues of pension and health care costs weighing on their budgets, the importance of education, and how to forge relationships with state and federal governments.
While the recession has presented a host of unforeseen challenges, for Mayor Emanuel, it has also been, "an opportunity for us to really rethink and reform the way we do government and deliver services."
