Los Angeles Unified is working with nonprofits to either build units or help find housing for relocated families.

When low-income residents are displaced by new schools being built, where do they go? LAUSD has a director of housing and relocation and he is working with property owners and nonprofits to find landlords who will accept Section 8 families. But not all will apply for Section 8, so LAUSD is looking at building new units, in cooperation with the Housing Authority. A lobbyist for more schools calls LAUSD's efforts "creative."
