Colorado voters will decide in November whether to study building a 165-mph monorail from Denver to Vail.
"Monorail proponents want to build a 165-mile high-speed line between Denver International Airport and Eagle County Regional Airport along Interstate 70. The measure will ask voters to divert $50 million of this year's state tax refunds - which were estimated at $950 million - to fund a two-year monorail project at the U.S. Transportation Department's technology test center in Pueblo. The Colorado Intermountain Fixed Guideway Authority, which has been promoting the project, estimates it would cost about $4 billion to build the entire line."
