Rocco Pendola discusses the potential for electric vehicles to emerge as a meaningful mode of alternative transportation in the United States.
Writing for an investment-focused news site, Pendola says that he believes the business of charging electric vehicles is about to boom.
He writes: "...there's a perfect storm brewing: rising fuel prices coupled with celebrity appeal and tax credits. This synchronicity could be behind the growing association household name brands are forging with the EV world as well as the rapid and eventual emergence of much smaller players."
The hitch is that current technology still takes hours to charge vehicles, so Pendola says charging stations will need to be tied to businesses like parking garages where people leave their cars for significant periods of time.
