Ventura County, CA has slow-growth policies. So while sprawl is increasing nationally, Ventura County's trend is the opposite.
"Urban sprawl rates can extrapolate very rapidly and can destroy agriculture in a county very rapidly." But that doesn't seem to be the case in Ventura County where urbanization of farmland appears to be slowing. This is because the per acre population density is increasing and fallow land is being converted to farm use.
