Transportation Frustration in Toronto

Toronto transit activists are frustrated that funding for planned streetcars is being rerouted, and are preparing a "Save Transit City" campaign.

From The National Post: "Folks all over the place are unhappy that their best hope for faster, more reliable transit is on hold indefinitely," said the president of community outreach consultancy Public Interest, who has begun to work on behalf of the Save Transit City campaign in his spare time. "

"Urban planning professor J. David Hulchanski added academic heft to the charge of the light rail brigade this week with a map juxtaposing the Transit City scheme with income statistics, highlighting the overlap between poor neighbourhoods and the proposed lines."
