Smart Growth America Director Don Chen wrote a letter to the editors of the New York Times stating: "A Dec. 26 news article suggests that opponents of sprawl and supporters of affordable housing are at odds with one another. In fact, community developers, environmentalists, and neighborhood groups often cooperate to make housing more affordable, particularly for low-income households."
