An alliance between the National League of Cities and IBM will help cities that don't have a website.

America's nearly 20,000 cities will get a jump-start in the transition to e-government thanks to a new collaboration between the National League of Cities (NLC) and IBM. The collaboration, announced at NLC's Congress of Cities annual meeting, is designed to bring the Internet revolution to all local governments, with an initial focus on serving the needs of the thousands of cities that do not yet have a Web presence. This unique program draws on the network of NLC and its 49 state municipal leagues and the proven expertise of IBM and its e-government business partners.
