The beach community of Jacksonville Beach invites Florida's own walking expert Dan Burden to walk its streets with them.
Walkability expert, Dan Burdan is set to walk and talk with planners, city officials and concerned citizens of Jacksonville Beach, Florida this month. City Council members have been searching for ways to revitalize their downtown beach side community and hope that Mr. Burdan, will offer his expert advice on how to make its downtown district "more vibrant, safe and livable." The Orlando design firm Glatting Jackson will assist in the study and final recommendations to create a "smart land-use plan that will improve how downtown buildings and streets look and function and deal with building scale, setbacks, placement on the property and parking.
