Local growth control measures will be on 50 ballots statewidein the November elections, and several Bay Area cities in particularwill be voting on whether to enact strict measures to limit developmentand preserve open space.
Specifically, Alameda county will be choosingbetween Measures C and D, both of which are intended to control growth.Measure C would incorporate a growth boundary already set by areacities, while Measure D would restrict the boundary further to allow forfarming in the county in the future. In addition to the measures inAlameda county, there are also growth control measures on the ballots inSonoma county and the cities of San Jose, Dublin, Rohnert Park, andSonoma.
