A city in Ohio is using the lure of free parking in an effort to shoppers in the holiday mood.

Bowling Green, Ohio, is giving its residents an early Christmas gift -- free parking at city metered spaces.

"Mayor John Quinn said the parking meter holiday would continue until Dec. 31 to encourage shopping in the downtown area."

While motorists won't have to pay, "all other parking restrictions, including the two-hour parking limit, will remain in effect."
