East Palo Alto's Ravenswood area remains "a rural place of rutted roads, chemical plants and auto wrecking yards." But with the high demand for commercial space that may change as developers plan to attract high-tech and bio-tech firms, restaurants, and stores to 130 acres of bay shore land. "Ravenswood is the last of three major redevelopment projects that city leaders have undertaken in an attempt to bring jobs and revenue into the struggling city."
