Building on the success of this event, a new local political party, Projet Montréal, targets automobile pollution and noise and advocates sustainable, transit-oriented urban development. The proposed solution: build new light-rail lines and encourage transit-oriented development. But will car-smitten Montrealers rise to the challenge?
