The California High-Speed Rail Authority aims to start servicing passengers by 2033.
The California High-Speed Rail Authority has chosen who will manufacture its trainsets. The authority approved a contract with Siemens Mobility to design, build and maintain three high-speed trains, with the potential for more as the network matures.
“The first trainsets are scheduled to arrive in California’s Central Valley for dynamic testing by early 2030. The Authority is targeting the start of passenger services by 2033,” Tiana May writes for Railway News.
The CHSRA Board also approved the environmental document for the 30-mile stretch of the network that will connect Anaheim to Los Angeles. That was the final environmental clearance needed for the route between San Francisco and Los Angeles, and allows CHSRA to progress planning and development across the high-speed rail system.
