"When giant retailers like Wal-Mart or Best Buy move out of a building or go bankrupt, the so-called "big box" stores they abandon often stay vacant for years. Communities face several challenges -- including the awkward size of these vast, empty buildings -- in their efforts to find new tenants. NPR's Anne Hawke reports."
