U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wants to protect about 2,500 acres of private land in California's Coachella Valley. The proposal's objective is to give endangered species in Coachella Valley Wildlife Refuge a chance to survive. The open house will be held at 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdayat the Thousand Palms Community Center, 31-819 Robert Road, Thousand Palms.
