San Francisco's Shrinking Population

The U.S. Census Bureau reports population losses for San Francisco and gains for its neighbor to the south--Los Angeles.

Census data show a statewide demographic shift in California--residents of northern counties are increasingly moving southward. The population is also leaving coastal and mountain communities for the lower prices of the Central Valley.
