From New York to Providence, these are the best places to get around without a car.

In an article for Good Good Good, Carson Sperry runs down a list of the top 10 cities for public transit in the United States, as ranked by Rent.com. The cities were ranked based on public transportation usage, accessibility, and cost.
From the sun-soaked coasts of Miami to the historic charm of Boston, from the cultural hub of Chicago to the innovation of San Francisco, it's clear that the spirit of a city lives not just in its landmarks or its cuisine, but in the subway cars, buses, trams and ferries that connect us to each other and the world.
New York City takes the top spot thanks to its high density, robust, 24/7 subway system, and complementary bus network. The city also boasts a ferry system and one of the nation’s largest bike share networks.
Boston and Washington, D.C. round out the top three, with San Francisco coming in fourth. See the source article for the full list.
