Races Pitting Buses to Trains End in Rail Victory

Buses are significantly slower than trains, according to local residents.

"Getting downtown in the morning on the Silver Line takes approximately 25 percent longer than on the Red, Orange, and Green MBTA lines, according to a weeklong test conducted by the Globe this month."" 'It's better than a bus, but not as convenient as a train,' said Theo Young, a South End resident riding the Silver Line on a recent evening, adding that the vehicles sometimes get bunched up. 'I think the underground would have been better,' he said."
