The park will connect to the Los Angeles River bike path and transit projects coming to the area.

Los Angeles city officials broke ground on a $82 million park project under the recently opened Sixth Street Viaduct, a bridge that replaced an aging historic bridge spanning the Los Angeles River, writes Steven Sharp in Urbanize LA.
The Sixth Street Park, Arts, and River Connectivity project (PARC) “will include seven acres of new open space on the east side of the Los Angeles River in Boyle Heights, and an additional five acres of space in the Arts District to the west,” Sharp explains.
The park will include grass fields, picnic areas, a splash pad, sports fields, event space, a dog park, and a cafe, among other features. “The new park space is also expected to complement new transportation projects within the Arts District and Boyle Heights, including a new segment of the Los Angeles River bike path and a proposed extension of Metro's B and D Lines to 6th Street.”
