"A nonprofit group hopes to stand in where Metro Detroit’s bus system falls short by establishing a 14-mile independent route in Oakland County. The Freedom Road Transportation Authority hopes to run two or three shuttle buses on M-59 from Highland Township to Pontiac by 2005 to help a growing population move from homes to jobs, stores and other services.
