With a commute of only a few steps, some new Orange County residents will have it better than their Los Angeleno counterparts.

A 22-home section of Ladera Ranch that allows residential use in the back half and commercial use in the front half has just been approved by Orange County. "Home/businesses include a real estate agent, concierge, day-care center, hair salon, a recording studio, insurance agent and wedding magazine publisher." The most significant aspect is that there is "no more commuting into smoggy Los Angeles...when business or family responsibilities call, the answer is in the next room, rather than 30 or 50 miles away."
