Steve Lopez, columnist for the Los Angeles Times, writes about how automobile dealers were big donors to the Schwarzenegger campaign for governor. Not only was Arnold recently hawking cars in San Fernando Valley at a dealership whose owners donated $42,500 to his campaign, he fired the California Department of Motor Vehicles agency head, an official whose pro-consumer stance had angered auto dealers.
