An article by Dima Stouhi for ArchDaily ranks the tallest buildings under construction around the world, citing data annually compiled and shared by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

“Responding to the global challenges of dense cities and the inability to cater to the world’s 7.8 billion population living and working in congested urban areas, architects have been exploring the skyscraper typology for decades now, integrating commercial spaces and public amenities within residential buildings to offer tenants an all-inclusive experience,” writes Stouhi.

Appearing at number 19 on the is the JPMorgan Chase World Headquarters, currently under construction in New York City and designed by Foster + Partners (the design of the building was revealed just a few days ago). The building will include 63 floors and rise to a final height of 1,388 feet. By comparison, the tallest building currently under construction, the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, will rise to 3,281 feet, with 167 floors.

While a building in Saudi Arabia tops the list (followed by a building in Malaysia), China dominates it, taking 20 out of the 25 spots on the list.
