Since 1962, throwing a snowball in Wausau, Wisconsin could have gotten you a ticket.
"After nearly 60 years, it may soon be legal once again for Wausau residents to have a snowball fight," reports Rob Mentzer.
Wausau officials say the law banning snowball throwing is "about public safety and preventing harassment-by-snowball, not stamping out winter fun," adds Mentezer. "But after a story about the ban spread to national news outlets earlier in December, Wausau City Council members will consider amending the city code to take snowballs off its list of banned projectiles."
Some of the latest media reports on the law either stated or implied that the ban was new, but it's actually been around since 1962. As explained in the video above, a ticket has been issued under the law only ten times in the last 15 years.
