The Atlanta suburb of Lilburn is the latest city to plant fruit trees for the purpose of feeding the public.

"Thanks to a donation from a local nonprofit, Gwinnett County will soon have its first 'food forest,'" reports Tyler Estep.
Indian Friends of Atlanta donated 100 fruit trees to be planted in Bryson Park in the city of Lilburn. The fruit from the trees will be available to the public for picking.
The footprint of food forests is growing in the Atlanta region. The nation's largest food forest was created in Atlanta earlier this year.
"The Indian Friends of Atlanta made the donation to mark what would’ve been the 150th birthday of Gandhi, the Indian independence leader also known as the mahatma or 'great soul,'" explains Estep.
