In May 2024, the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals will hold its national conference in Stateline, Nevada, offering opportunities to learn and network in the beautiful setting of Lake Tahoe.

The Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals (SORP) will hold the 2024 National Outdoor Recreation Conference (NORC) in Stateline, Nevada in May. The NORC is a conference dedicated to outdoor recreation professionals with opportunities for learning, networking, and field-based case studies. With the theme of "Stewarding People, Place, and Play," this year's conference offers a program that is intended to inspire, challenge, and empower the broad community of outdoor recreation professionals.
NORC typically brings together more than 400 outdoor recreation professionals, including planners, land managers, policy makers, tourism and destination stewardship partners, researchers, consultants, innovators, and leaders in outdoor recreation. This year’s conference has a four-day format filled with workshops, several tracks of concurrent sessions, and keynote addresses.
The 2024 NORC will be held at The Tahoe Blue Event Center is located in the Stateline area of South Lake Tahoe, between the peaks of Heavenly Mountain Resort and Lake Tahoe. Opened in September 2023, the multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue provides space for conferences, concerts, shows, sporting events, and other events.
SORP has been serving the outdoor recreation profession since 1983. It is the nation’s leading association of outdoor recreation and related professionals who strive to protect natural and cultural resources while providing sustainable recreation access.
