Reduced Fares Available for Low-Income Transit Riders in the Denver Area

The LiVE program (short for "live you best life") offers 40 percent discounts on transit rides for qualifying riders.

Denver's Regional Transportation District has launched a new low-income fare program "that will provide a 40 percent discount for riders whose household incomes are at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level," reports John Aguilar.

The program, named LiVE, which stands for "live your best life," implements a decision to launch the program, made by RTD officials last year. "A 25-member working group worked for more than a year, starting in 2017, on how to structure the low-income fare program," according to Aguilar.
