The richest person in Illinois just set a record for the most expensive home ever bought in the United States.
"Billionaire Ken Griffin, Illinois’ richest man, has purchased a New York City penthouse for roughly $238 million," according to an article by Randi Stevenson and Bob Goldsborough.
"The deal sets a record for the most expensive home ever sold in the United States."
Griffin is actually buying the penthouse of the still-under-construction 220 Central Park South building. Griffin previously set the record for most expensive home sale ever in the Chicago area.
