The Metro Monitor 2018 reports economic data for 2016, and it continues a tale of two cities (or metropolitan areas) around the United States.

The Brookings Institution has released the Metro Monitor 2018, reporting uneven growth beneath the ostensible economic boom around the United States. According to a an article by Chad Shearer, Isha Shah, Alex Friedhoff, and Alan Berube to share the news of the report, the uneven progress of the economy "reflects the accelerating pace of economic change that people and places across the nation now confront."
"Leaders in our major cities and metropolitan areas, centers of economic disruption and opportunity, are looking for insights and strategies to adapt," according to the article. The Metro Monitor is thus designed to inform local and regional efforts in that adaptation effort. Metrics include indicators grouped under the headings of Growth, Prosperity, and Inclusion. Interactive maps and infographics are included.
