Senior Transportation Planner, Policy and Programming Division
Summary
The Transportation Planner Series in the Policy and Programming Division includes four levels of professionals who perform complex and sensitive tasks in the areas of fund programming, strategic financial planning, and planning. We are looking for qualified candidates for a Senior Transportation Planner, the third level of professional in this series.
This position will serve as a core member of our funding team. Primary responsibilities are related to our role as Congestion Management Agency and supporting our work to implement the voter-approved expenditure plans for San Francisco’s half-cent sales tax for transportation (Prop L), annual vehicle registration fee (Prop AA), and Traffic Congestion Mitigation Tax (TNC Tax).
This work includes but is not limited to:
- Perform project monitoring and delivery support, and help agencies comply with timely-use-of-funds and other requirements for projects with federal and state transportation grants.
- Provide policy, programming, and funding input into the development of various programs and plans including, but not limited to, the Prop L 5-Year Prioritization Programs and One Bay Area Grant.
- Review funding requests, and prepare and present staff recommendations to management, the Community Advisory Committee, and Transportation Authority Board for consideration and approval.
- Represent the Transportation Authority on technical and policy advisory groups within the City and across the region, and in interactions with staff at Caltrans, MTC, and peer agencies.

Compensation and Benefits
Annual Compensation Range: $101,174 – $139,618
The Transportation Authority offers an employer contribution to a retirement plan in lieu of Social Security. In addition, the Transportation Authority offers a generous cafeteria-style benefits package, which includes, but is not limited to:

Vacation: Three (3) weeks of vacation per year during the first 5 years of service.
