McDonald's asked 30 designers to come up with new plans for restaurants and two designers make the finalist list.
"...[A] team of executives, suppliers and designers has prepared about 40 new designs that will begin popping up around the country before the end of the year as owner-operators spruce up old restaurants or build new ones... Stratton said the new designs span a wide range, from such contemporary styles to more retro appeals, such as those used in the recent redevelopment of McDonald's restaurants in Hinsdale and Libertyville. Those looks drew on the 1950s while keeping modern fixtures and fittings inside."
