It's opening day for the core of Boston's massive Big Dig project.
Boston, the beginning of the end for the highway construction project -- some would say boondoggle -- known as the Big Dig. The opening of the northbound lanes of Interstate 93 begins today.NPR's Tovia Smith reports that even as officials are cutting the ribbon, workers are doing a last minute scramble to get the on-ramps open.
