The state of Massachusetts has set a goal to add 135,000 new housing units over the next eight years. To achieve that goal, the state will provide incentives for cities that streamline development approval.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker today announced a statewide plan to ease housing construction throughout the approval and development process.
"The Baker administration will award $10 million a year in grants and incentives to municipalities that add housing quickly and will also ask the state Legislature to make it easier for communities to change zoning rules for certain types of housing," reports Tim Logan.
